The Franklin Mint
The Franklin Mint produced a range of collectible items including coins, dolls, plates and jewellery. Founded in 1964 in Pennsylvania USA, the company was acquired in 1980 by Warner Communications and started manufacturing diecast vehicles and aircraft in 1983. They quickly gained a reputation for their high degree of realism and detail. The company changed hands a number of times from 1985 onwards, with the production of diecast models eventually diminishing. The company no longer exists in its own right but the name continues as a marketing brand under the current owners and a range of diecast cars is still offered.
