Cast red body and shovel arms, silver engine. This is the scarce version with a black bucket - it is usually silver - and is the type 1 casting with a diamond on the front but no grille detail. There is a 'Taylor Woodrow' decal on the rear of the cab. The shovel arms may be raised and lowered, held in place by a 'hydraulic' ram. The bucket tips forward and back, again held in place by a set of two rams. The cab is glazed and contains a driver figure. The wheels are red, plastic at the front and metal at the rear, with black tyres.
This example is in good condition. There are a couple of chips on the loader arms, a rub on the rear of the cab, and a few other small chips elsewhere. The decal is fully intact, the tyres are as new and the axles free of rust. The loader arms have a single ram on the offside, which is slightly damaged so does not hold the loader in the raised position. Note that there is no ram on the nearside; I believe this is correct as I have seen several examples like this, and the mounting point for the nearside ram was removed altogether on later releases.
The original lidded box has very light wear but no significant damage. The original price of 10/- (ten shillings) is written in pencil on one end of the lid.
