This model was adapted from the Corgi 248 Chevrolet Impala, which has 2 separate castings for the upper and lower body, with a plastic chrome trim unit sandwiched in between. For the Kennel Service Wagon, an entirely new upper body section was produced, incorporating a van-like rear with clear plastic roof light and sliding side windows, and drop-down tailgate. The upper part of the body is white, while the lower portion including base is orange-red.
The interior is light blue with silver-grey steering wheel and clear plastic partitions that separate the rear into three compartments. These contain four plastic dog figures in a variety of breeds and poses. On the roof is a 'Vari-View' animated roof sign showing a dachshund which appears to be walking if the vehicle is moved slightly. 'Kennel Club' labels on the sides in orange and yellow with dog illustration complete the model. The model is fitted with cast detailed wheels with black tyres and suspension.
In excellent condition, with four dogs present, and signs, windows and tailgate intact. There are a few paint chips, mostly around the rear corners but also one on a front wing. The silver plating is in excellent condition, and so are the tyres. The box is poor, with one end flap detached and the other missing altogether.
