As far as I can determine, this litho printed tinplate policeman was made by Wells-Brimtoy; unfortunately they had a habit of not putting any manufacturer marks on their products. He has a clockwork motor, which is supposed to make him walk - or shuffle really, since his feet are joined together! Unfortunately in this case the motor does not work, although it may be fixable. The key is also missing, but a replacement should be easy to find, for instance a Tri-ang Minic key.
He has some wear to his paintwork, but is still a nice period display piece.
