This is the earlier 'Kent Fire Brigade' version of the Shand-Mason Fire Engine. This model is drawn by 2 white cast metal horses with grey manes and tails. The fire engine itself is red (of course!) with 'brass' pump and black metal spoked wheels. The rear step has 11 slats, marking this as an early casting: later ones had the slats filled in as the die deteriorated.
This one is complete with its original 3 black plastic firemen, but one of them has lost his head! The others have gold-painted helmets. There is some paint chipping along the body edges, and the paint is very thin on one side of the upper body. One decal is intact, the other has a bit missing from one end.
