This is a MKIII Zephyr 6 which had a straight 6-cylinder engine (there was also a 4 cylinder version). I learned to drive in a Zodiac MKIII which was a more luxurious version of the Zephyr 6. These cars were popular with the UK Police force, and gave the TV cop series 'Z Cars' its name.
This is a nice example of the Matchbox model, finished in dark turquoise-blue with silver trim, off-white interior and black base with tow hook. The wheels are silver plastic and the axles have suspension - this was the first Matchbox 1-75 model to have this feature.
In excellent condition with bright paintwork, just one chip on a front wing. The tow hook is intact, the axles almost rust-free and the suspension still works! In a type D box which is good, although there is some light creasing and one of the main flap hinges has been reinforced with tape on the inside.
