A four-wheeled farm waggon (spelt the old-fashioned way), with two horses in separate pairs of shafts. This is an early example, cast in lead with a tinplate floor; later post-war ones were die-cast in zinc alloy. In green with cream-grey interior, red 12-spoke wheels and red trim to the edges of the headboard. The two pairs of shafts are attached to an articulated front axle.
The hollow-cast horses are attached to the shafts by a wire running through their bodies, and they are chestnut brown with tan harnesses and black saddles and collars with gold trim. The waggon comes complete with hollow-cast carter figure in a beige smock, holding a whip in his movable left arm.
This example is complete, but with fairly heavy paint wear particularly to the waggon floor, the backs of the horses and the carter. The tailboard is present and correct - these often go missing. The wires connecting the horses to the shafts are replacements.
Very much pre-loved, but still an attractive old model!
