This model is based on the Alvis Salamander, with bodywork inspired by Pyrene and Foamite fire tenders. In red with silver-grey base and rear deck and silver grille. There is a gold foam cannon on the roof. There should be white plastic hoses and ladder on the roof, and 'AIRPORT CRASH TENDER' signs on the sides. Unfortunately all except one sign are missing; replica spares are available from various sources.
The paintwork is fairly heavily chipped and there is some rust on the axles; the two plastic suspension leaves are present and correct.
The hoses, ladder and side lettering and all white plastic. This one is an early issue with a silver (unpainted metal) foam cannon on the roof; the later gold ones are much more common. The base is cast with 2 side braces and fitted with white plastic leaf springs front and rear.
In good condition, there is some paint rubbing to the raised body lines but the cannon and plastic parts are intact and the axles are bright with only the slightest marks. The type E1 box is not so good, with some crushing and one end flap detached, the other hanging by a thread.
