The Fowler Showman's Engine is one of Lesney's most impressive models, with superb detailing.
This one is in light maroon with off-white roof and ahite and gold roof supports. The chimney is stored on the roof, ready to be erected when the engine reaches the fairground and is put into action generating power for the rides! Wheels are spoked metal, finished in yellow with unpainted metal treads.
The 'Made in England by Lesney' plate on the underside is in body colour.
The maroon paintwork is very well preserved, but there are some small chips on the roof. The decal on one side of the roof is only about 50% intact, while the other is much better, having just a little bit missing from the edge. The type D2 box has general ageing, with some wear to the edges of the flaps, a small tear in one corner at the front, and a light crease on the back.
